Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra is the largest annual religious festival in the world. Jagannatha, Baladeva and Subhadra are taken on three huge chariots. The construction of new chariots begins on Akshaya Tritiya day every year, with the worship of the sacred wood. जगन्नाथ पूरी रथ यात्रा विश्व का सबसे विशाल वार्षिक धर्मोत्सव है जिसमें जगन्नाथ, बलदेव और सुभद्रा को तीन विशालकाय रथों में ले जाया जाता है । हर वर्ष अक्षय तृतीय के पावन दिवस पर पवित्र काष्ट (लकड़ी) की पूजा के साथ नए रथों का निर्माण प्रारंभ होता है । रथ निर्माण बिना किसी लिखित निर्देश के ही पीढ़ी दर पीढ़ी हस्तानांतरित की जाती है । नीचे रथ निर्माण कि झलकियाँ देखें ।
