Does the Supreme Lord Become Anxious

Who is God? What is His transcendental nature? These questions are often heard and aspired to seek perfect answers. All self-realized souls, as well as revealed scriptures, declare that Krishna is the supreme personality of Godhead, and His nature is Sat-Cit-Ananda (Eternal form of complete knowledge & bliss). As explained in scriptures, five hundred years ago, Lord Krishna appeared as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to reclaim fallen souls of this Kali-yuga. He is the supreme father of all living beings, and He is always anxious for taking them back to His kingdom (Spiritual world-Vaikuntha).

Once Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu asked Haridasa Ṭhakura, "My dear Ṭhakura Haridasa, in this age of Kali most people are bereft of Vedic culture, they all engage in sinful acts. How be they all delivered? To My great unhappiness, I do not see any way." This is the nature of the supreme Lord. He doesn't need anything. By nature, He is blissful and possesses all opulence in full. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who is the Supreme Personality of Godhead Krishna Himself, is always very unhappy to see the fallen souls in the material world. Therefore He comes as He is, or He comes as a devotee in the form of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, to deliver fallen souls.

After Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu expressed His anxiety, Haridasa Ṭhakura replied: "My dear Lord, do not be in anxiety." He continued, "Just by chanting the holy names of the Supreme Lord, a person can be delivered." He then quoted from Padma Purana.

"If a devotee once utters the holy name of the Lord, or if it penetrates his mind or enters his ear, which is the channel of aural reception, that holy name will certainly deliver him from material bondage, whether vibrated properly or improperly, with correct or incorrect grammar, and properly joined or vibrated in separate parts."  By citing this verse, he explained how all human beings could be delivered. He quoted the examples of Ajamila and other instances.

As Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu heard this from Haridasa Ṭhakura, the happiness within His heart increased, but as a matter of course, He still inquired further. "On this earth, there are many living entities," the Lord said, "some moving and some not moving. What will happen to the trees, plants, insects, and other living entities? How will they be delivered from material bondage?"

Haridasa Ṭhakura replied, "By loud chanting of Hare Krishna mantra, everyone, moving or not moving, can be benefited by hearing it." Non-moving living entities like trees hear chanting, and there is an echo. This echo is their participation. He then cited the incidences like Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu delivering the Jharikhaṇḍa forest animals by Nama-Sankirtan and other instances. Then, Haridasa Ṭhakura concluded, "When loud chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra is performed all over the world by those who follow in Your footsteps, all living entities, moving and non-moving, dance in ecstatic devotional love and delivered from material bondage." In this way, Haridasa Ṭhakura relieved the anxiety of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu for all conditioned souls of the world. Although Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is the Supreme Lord Himself, He asked these questions to teach all of us. Supreme Lord loves all creatures so much that sometimes He becomes anxious to take them to the spiritual world.

Hence, chanting the holy names of Lord Krishna is the complete process to deliver all living entities of this world, either moving or non-moving. Therefore, every intelligent human being must take to this process of going back to the kingdom of God seriously, and sincerely try distributing Hare Krishna Mahamantra to everyone.
